Paddle the scenic Chippewa River, near Jim Falls, Wisconsin on this whitewater kayaking adventure designed for paddlers of varying abilities.
We’ll meet at CrawDaddy Outdoors and drive about 4 hours, then paddle for a few hours before settling into our cabin. We plan to paddle Friday and Saturday on several local rivers, depending on water levels. This is primarily a creeking trip on Class II and III rapids, with some play boating opportunities as well.

Transportation from Waverly, IA to Jim Falls, Wisconsin and back, small trip size, professional instruction by CrawDaddy guides and a whitewater instructor, safety gear, all meals, and lodging. Please bring your own whitewater kayak, paddle, PFD and sprayskirt. If you don’t own whitewater gear, talk to us about using ours.
We do our best to accommodate all dietary restrictions and preferences. Upon sign-up, you will receive a short questionnaire, to share these needs with us.
Whitewater kayaking
Participants should have some experience with swiftwater paddling. You will be asked to demonstrate basic whitewater kayaking skills prior to the trip. There will be multiple opportunities to brush up on and/or demonstrate these skills at winter pool sessions. We plan to paddle in most weather conditions–rain or shine, hot or cold, windy or still.
Lodging in a cabin. Price includes one bed per person or couple with 1-3 people per room.
Optional guide gratuities, items of a personal nature.
Limited to 7 people. A minimum of 4 registrants is required to offer the trip.
We have intentionally limited the number of participants on our trips in order to provide a safe and rich outdoor experience.
