This Spring paddle adventure is sure to be full of wildlife and bird viewing and amazing views as we paddle the backwaters and tributaries of the Mississippi Flyway during peak migration. Did you know that nearly half of the bird species in North America use the Mississippi Flyway during Spring migration? What an exciting time to explore!
We’ll stay in a beautiful cabin in Lynxville, WI with a stunning view of the river, eat delicious meals made from scratch and enjoy great company! We plan to paddle each day of the trip, exploring both the Iowa and Wisconsin sides of the Mississippli river, as well as the Reno Bottoms Canoe Trail*. Upon returning to the cabin each evening,enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub overlooking the river!
*Exact paddling locations are dependent on weather and river conditions.
Professional instruction and guiding, fresh prepared meals, transportation from Waverly, IA to the cabin and back, kayak, paddle, pfd, first aid kit, safety gear. If you’d prefer to bring your own boat or gear, you are welcome to do so.
We do our best to accommodate all dietary restrictions and preferences. Upon sign-up, you will receive a short questionnaire, to share these needs with us.
Kayaking, birding, wildlife viewing
Beginner. We will be paddling on mostly flat water approximately 5 miles per day, or around 4-6 hours. We plan to paddle in most weather conditions–rain or shine, hot or cold, windy or still.
The cabin has 5 bedrooms, 2 full baths and 2 half bathrooms, a hot tub and large deck. Price includes one bed per person or couple with 1-3 people per room. Futons/sofas are also available.
Optional guide gratuities, items of a personal nature.
Limited to 12 people. A minimum of 6 registrants is required to offer the trip.
We have intentionally limited the number of participants on our trips in order to provide a safe and rich outdoor experience.
