Ensure a safe paddle trip for you and others by enhancing your water safety skills in our Kayak Skills for Beginners class. We’ll start at water's edge for brief instruction before moving to the lake for hands-on learning. ACA certified instructors, will teach you the basics of kayak safety and paddle techniques.
This class is great for beginner paddlers who want to learn and practice kayak safety, as well as any paddlers who'd like to improve their paddle strokes, maintain control of their kayak in a variety of conditions and enhance their kayaking experience.

Small class size, professional instruction by an ACA certified instructor, kayaks, PFDs, paddles, bilge pumps, paddle floats and other safety gear. If you’d prefer to bring your own PFD, you are welcome to do so.
Brief lakeside instruction followed by plenty of hands-on time on the water. Attendees will learn several basic paddle strokes and means of maneuvering your kayak, safety and basic rescue techniques.
Beginner. Expect to be active on the water for 1.5 hours.
Limited to 8 people. A minimum of 3 registrants is required to offer the class.
We have intentionally limited the number of participants on our classes in order to provide a safe and rich experience.
