Adventure Gals: Kayak the Cedar River

Join Adventure Gals as we paddle the Cedar River near Osage in Northeast Iowa, a wilder section known for solitude and wildlife viewing.

We will meet in the morning at CrawDaddy Outdoors in Waverly, and drive about an hour to our starting point. After dropping off gear and paddlers, we’ll quickly shuttle vehicles to our end point and return to the start where our adventure begins! We plan to be on the water at approximately 10 am and off the water by 3 pm with a sandbar stop for lunch. This float is great for sisters, girlfriends, beginners and ladies looking for adventure with a safe, supportive community!

Feel free to bring your own drinks, lunch and snacks to enjoy on the water. Flush toilet facilities are available at start point and no facilities at the takeout point. Be prepared for wilderness bathroom practices on the river.

Adventure Gals events are designed and led by women for women looking for ways to get outside, meet new friends, in a safe, supportive community.

What’s Included: 

Professional instruction and guiding, transportation from Waverly, IA to the event and back, kayak, paddle, PFD, first aid kit, safety gear. If you’d prefer to bring your own kayak or gear, you are welcome to do so.

Skill Level:

Beginner. Plan to be on the water for about 5 hours with a mid-day for lunch on a sandbar. We plan to paddle in most weather conditions–rain or shine, hot or cold, windy or still.

Not Included:

Lunch, snacks, water or other beverages, optional guide gratuities, items of a personal nature.

Time: 8am-5pm

Registration is limited to 12 women. A minimum of 6 registrants is required to offer the trip. 

We have intentionally limited the number of participants on our trips in order to provide a safe and rich outdoor experience.
