Red Rock Reservoir Kayaking Trip


Formed by Red Rock Dam on the Des Moines River, Red Rock Reservoir is approximately 55 miles southeast of the city of Des Moines, Iowa. The dam was completed in 1969 as a flood control project by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, making it the largest lake in Iowa.

Pictured Rocks derives its name from the 15 miles of colorful sandstone cliffs northeast of Munising, Michigan. The cliffs are up to 200 feet above lake level and have been naturally sculptured into shallow caves, arches, formations that resemble castle turrets, and human profiles, among others. This National Lakeshore is one of the most truly beautiful places Lake Superior has to offer.

The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a U.S. national lakeshore consisting of 21 islands and shoreline encompassing 69,372 acres on the northern tip of Wisconsin on the shore of Lake Superior. The Floods of 2008


CrawDaddy Outdoors would like to thank their friends, family, landlord and staff for all their hard work in getting the store open again after the 2008 flood. Forty-five volunteers put in four hundred hours, while staff and landlord put in eight hundred hours of work. Eight hundred of these hours were in the first 9 days.
