River Floats

Join the CrawDaddy Crew on a relaxing summer float on one of Iowa’s many rivers. No prior kayaking experience is required.

The cost is $10 for transportation plus $20 if you’re bringing your own kayak or $30 if you need to rent one.

You must call in advance to reserve your spot.

May 27 – Cedar River
May 28 – Shell Rock
May 29 – Wapsipinicon River
June 13 – Volga River
July 18 – Shell Rock River
August 8 – Winnebago River

 

Memorial Day Float Trips – May 27-29

Cost per trip – Must call, pay, and reserve your spot
Cost $20 person – bring your own canoe or kayak
$30 person – we provide the kayak or canoe

CrawDaddy Outdoors will provide: kayaks and canoes if reserved, lifejackets, paddles, shuttling of people and equipment at river site, expertise.

Participant provides: transportation, lunch, beverages minimum 2 liters per person (no alcohol), snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, rain gear, appropriate clothing based on weather, extra clothes in car in case you get wet, and towel. We and our insurance company require that you wear your life jacket.

Saturday May 27 – Cedar River

(Nashua to North Cedar Park-Plainfield ) – 12.6 miles
9:00    

– Meet at Nashua – behind Co-op in Downtown
– Shuttle vehicles
– Canoe and kayak instruction
10:00 – Start Trip
3:00 – Put gear away and head home

Sunday May 28 – Shell Rock River

(Shell Rock City Boat Ramp to Washington Union Access)- 11.2 miles
9:00

– Meet at Shell Rock City Boat Ramp behind Elementary School
– Shuttle vehicles
– Canoe and kayak instruction
10:00 – Start Trip
3:00 – Put gear away and head home

Monday May 29 – Wapsipinicon River

(Wapsi Access to Smoketown Access) -7-8 miles
9:00

– Meet at Wapsi Access Wapsi Access Directions: In Tripoli, at junction of Hwy 93 and V-43 (Main Street) or VFW corner – go straight east till you get to the river.
– Shuttle vehicles
– Canoe and kayak instruction
10:00 – Start Trip
3:00 – Put gear away and head home
