Mississippi River Spring Kayaking 2024

April 26-28 Paddle the Mississippi flyway during peak migration through backwaters and tributaries of the mighty river. Stay in a large cabin that has an amazing view and a hot tub. Enjoy delicious meals and great company! No experience needed. We will be paddling all 3 days depending on weather and water levels along the Mississippi river on both the Iowa and Wisconsin sides of the river. Saturday paddle will be along the IA/MN border on the Reno Bottoms Canoe Trail. Birdwatching and wildlife viewing should be perfect this time of year and we are sure to see some amazing views. The cabin we will be staying in is located in Lynxville, WI. It does have a hot tub with a view of the river so bring your swimsuit! All lodging, transportation, food and gear are included. Feel free to bring your own kayak or use one of ours. Beginner Backpacking 2024

May 17-19 Hike the hills of Yellow River State Forest and learn the basics of backpacking, back country camping, cooking and more! Depart from CrawDaddy parking lot at 4pm on Friday returning Sunday late afternoon. This is a back country experience to a walk-in only part of Yellow River. We will be teaching and practicing the leave no trace principles. There are not consistent restrooms located in this part of the park, so we will also be teaching proper personal waste disposal. We will send a pack list out closer to the date, gear needed will be provided. All camping, transportation, and food is also taken care of. Colorado Expedition 2024

June 8-16 New for 2024! Join Jamie and Renee on a trip to Salida, CO. Experience Sand Dunes National Park, Whitewater Rafting, Hot Springs, Day hikes, and more! Tent camping at the beautiful O'Haver Lake Campground just off the Continental Divide at 9200ft. We will break up the drive into 2 days, camping part way, on this 9-day expedition in the mountains. All costs of planned activities are included! Enjoy delicious food and great company! Jamie and Renee know this area very well! They met just over the pass in Gunnison where both went to school at Western State College. They also travel to this area yearly to visit Renee's family. Renee leads a group of high school students on a Wilderness Studies course into this same area doing many of the same activities. We will be enjoying some iconic Colorado experiences on this trip. Whitewater rafting the Arkansas River with the best guide company in the valley, a day exploring Sand Dunes National Park, an afternoon soak in Mt Princeton hot springs, and a couple great day hikes above tree line to some awe-inspiring views. This trip will also have plenty of "free time" for trip members to choose their own adventures. Trout fishing, Mt biking, paddle around O'Haver Lake on SUPs or kayaks, shopping in downtown Salida and more. O'Haver Lake campground is a well-maintained forest service campground with very clean pit style toilets. We will have several showers built into our schedule at the local public pool and hot springs. All transportation, camping, food, scheduled activities, and gear provided. July 7-14 Backpack the trail overlooking Lake Superior in the amazing wilderness of Isle Royale! Our adventure begins at Grand Portage with a 6-hour ferry to the island. Backpackers will travel 3-12 miles per day carrying all their gear and food. This is a remote wilderness and is a very strenuous and physically demanding trip. You will be carrying all your gear in your backpack (40-45#). At the end of the trip we will take another ferry ride back to Grand Portage. We will be driving back the same day and will arrive home very late. All transportation, camping, food and gear are provided. We will be exploring the Wapsipinicon and Maquoketa Rivers with plenty of stops for the kids. Designed for families with kids of all ages but anyone is welcome to join! No experience needed. Renee, Jamie and their girls want to provide an adventure built for families. We will meet at our basecamp of Central Park in Jones County on Friday evening for supper, campfire and fellowship. There is plenty of room for the kids to run and play so the adults can enjoy great food and company! Saturday and Sunday we will do a nice stretch of the Wapsi or Maquoketa Rivers with several sandbar stops for the kids (and adults) to swim and take a break. We should be done paddling by midafternoon Sunday. Hot showers are available in the main restrooms at the campground. Transportation available if needed, camping, food and gear provided. Feel free to use your own kayak or use one of ours. Available number of members: 18 Registration deadline: July 26 50% deposit due at booking must be fully paid by July 26 $375/adult $100/kid under age 12

September 12-16 Experience the north shore of Lake Superior from a new perspective: kayak, tent camp, and hike! This 5-day adventure includes moderate day hikes and waterfall viewing. Depending on weather, paddle on Lake Superior or St Louis River. Enjoy hearty meals and great company! Leave 7am Sept 12th and return late Sept 16th.
